Buying Team – Product Development & Purchasing – Full-Time

As a Silver Icing Buyer, you bring proven experience to the table. You are used to playing an integral role and are committed to contributing to the overall success of both the buying and warehouse receiving operations. You will be responsible for product related data entry, vendor communication, product scheduling and oversee quality & fit control of all inbound products. Assist in identifying trends, sourcing suppliers and maintaining strong positive relationships with existing vendors. Day to day responsibilities include:

• Overall management of PO process


• Working with vendors to design and develop products including Private Label designs


• Accurate order processing, scheduling and delivery and confirming received shipments


• Assist in placing orders and inputting corresponding details into our proprietary software and project management software


• Management of product scheduling and receiving scheduler way


• Vendor follow up relating to shipment confirmation, scheduled delivery and shipment inconsistencies


• Communicating purchase order changes to all involved parties and any required follow up


• Maintains and provides sales metrics to the buyers to consider future buying commitments and trends


• Maintain departmental reports and records


• Assist the Receiving Team in review and examination of product samples and confirmed quantities for quality and fit


• Active in our community providing answering product related questions


• Liaise with vendors and place orders, resolver order/product issues


• Experience with technical garment design and development, including pattern making considered beneficial


• Experience in working with domestic and offshore factories


• Experience with sourcing vendors via Alibaba


• Experience with women's and children's fashion, an asset

• 2+ years related working experience in a similar role


• Post-secondary education in fashion preferred


• Intermediate knowledge of Excel (Pivot Table, vlookup, etc.)


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Extremely organized with the ability to multitask and work under deadline


• A self-starter, strong ability to take initiative


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Knowledge and experience with online, retail, merchandising or product development processes


• Proficient in Microsoft Office
