As the Silver Icing's Warehouse Manager, you are responsible to ensure the warehouse team members uphold the
high standards of our growing organization in compliance with the SI Core Values.
You will oversee the daily operations, including receiving of product, picking, packing and shipping of
packages, assisting with inventory management and ensuring workplace safety. You are a strong multi-tasker and
can keep many balls in the air at one time. You do not easily crumble under pressure and can see clearly “the
bigger picture”. You can effectively prioritize the required tasks supporting the team to accomplish their daily
goals.
You are a hands-on leader, setting our warehouse teams and general operation up for success every day. You can
establish short and long-term goals based on strategic product forecasting and leads the warehouse team to
achieve the outlined production targets and goals.
Most importantly you know the importance of clear and open communication and are in constant contact with the
Customer Service and Buying Departments, ultimately supporting their effort to meet the commitments promised to
our customers.
Responsibilities
A summary of role responsibilities includes but are not limited to:
Achieve warehouse objectives by contributing recommendations to strategic plans and reviews;
implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems and
identify trends.
Proactively evaluate current procedure and develop ways to improve processes, procedures and performance
by identifying procedural gaps and develop supplemental documentation and guides.
Actively oversee the day-to-day operations; organize team members to pick, pack and ship in the most
efficient and quickest way possible without sacrificing quality performance.
Continually review the product receiving schedule in coordination with the picking & packing teams to
stay on schedule for estimated shipping dates.
Oversee staffing needs in the warehouse including advertising positions, interviewing, selecting,
coaching, training, evaluating and if necessary disciplining team member performance.
Manage team member schedules to ensure the warehouse is staffed to its full potential based on seasonal
needs>
Come up with weekly goals and rewards to help motivate and bring the team together
Start each day with team meetings to review the day's goals.
Provide outstanding customer support by assisting in customer related issues when needed in quick and
timely manner.
Find ways to continually impress our customers with faster than expected shipping.
Lead by example in safety practices and procedures. Coach and train in safe work methods and hold team
members to the highest standards regarding safety.
Oversee the maintenance of warehouse organization and cleanliness.
Qualifications
3+ years of manufacturing or warehouse supervisory experience
Proven ability to develop and lead team members in meeting goals and objectives
Post-secondary education in operational management a strong asset
Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
Deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events in a professional and timely manner
Spend extended periods of time on your feet and able to lift, pull, push up to and including 50 pounds
Valid experience with Forklift
