They have a chunkier look but aren't super heavy. They have little charms on the laces, one says WMN, the other, PWR, signifying woman power. I am wearing my true size 8 and found them to fit great. I have solid size 8 feet but they are wide. They worked great for me! I would say stick true to size or go down half if you have narrow feet.
